Vibrantly Colored Trees -- Lost Maples State Natural Area
Lost Maples State Natural Area is near Kerrville Texas.
If you have ever wanted to see the trees changing color like they do up north, but without the long travel time, you should visit Lost Maples in Texas.
The colors are amazing on these trees. The park service has put in some great hiking trails. You can choose from easy to strenuous levels of hiking trails.
Throughout the park there are water features, such as this river.
Lost Maples is a great place for a family hike or just to get some exercise. Don't forget to bring your camera -- and check your batteries to make sure they are charged before you leave in the morning.
This is a view of the lake at the end of one of the trails at Lost Maples State Natural Area. Some people fish here and others just relax.
