Great Smoky Mountains National Park -- August 2011

Smoky Mountain National Park

My summer vacation was to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  I took some interesting pictures on the way over to the park.

bridge

This bridge spanned the Mississippi.

kudzu

This is a picture of kudzu.   Kudzu was introduced to the south and has taken over.  In the 1930's the government paid farmers to plant Kudzu.  Now it grows over trees and even power lines.

natchez mississippi

Lovely Mississippi River setting with a paddle wheeler.

white barn

 White barn near Shiloh.

shiloh

Shiloh military museum.  This cannon is on display with some other great artifacts.  Check back to see pictures of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
