These pictures were taken on Sunday May 16th, 2010 at the Davis Museum. To see part I of this blog, click here. This is a picture of the train depot/museum at Davis Oklahoma. It is on the main highway going through Davis right near the railroad tracks.
The museum is open from 10am to 4pm. The suggested donation is $1.
The historic certificate is displayed proudly just near the front door of the musuem.
I took a picutre of this train near the musuem. What a beautiful sunny day it was, perfect for taking pictures.
Here is a diarama of olden days in Davis, OK.
Here is the left side of the diarama showing the wife in her period clothes. Look at the great cast iron stove.
This section of the musuem housed lots of tools and implements used on farms. Those glass things that look like up side down jars are from the telegraph poles in this area.
They also have a great collection of old cameras. I remember when my grandmother used one similar to the one on the top shelf with the flash bulb, and she had to change the flash bulb everytime she took a picture indoors.
There were lots of other great things to see in this wonderful musuem. Please stop by if you are in the neighborhood, they have done such a wonderful job of putting the materials together, I think you will enjoy it.
