Beautiful tree on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol building.  Lovely fall coloring.

capitol building

2nd view of the capitol building from the 15th street side.  The Texas Capitol is an impressive example of late nineteenth century public architecture in America.  It was finished in 1888 and was designed in the then-popular Renaissance Revival style, echoing the public structures of fifteenth and sixteenth century Italy, reminiscent of governmental building of ancient Greece and Rome.  If you are in Austin and heve the time to tour the Capitol building you will not be dissapointed.

By the time you read this, you'll probably know whether you were naughty or nice. Look under the Christmas tree.... no presents? naughty.... I'm guessing they'll be lots of presents.

Merry Christmas Day!
